Mikkel Turley, DVM
Dr. Mikkel Turley’s journey began in the quaint town of Chino Valley, AZ, where his childhood was intertwined with the compassionate act of rescuing animals. This rural backdrop not only shaped his character but also ignited the inclination to delve deeper into animal care and he set his sights on becoming a veterinarian.
His academic journey commenced with an A.S. degree from Yavapai Community College in 2017 and was followed by a B.S. in Veterinary Science from the University of Arizona in 2020. Fueled by his unwavering determination, he earned admission to the prestigious Washington State University College of Veterinary Medicine and attained his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in May 2024.
Before embarking on his veterinary studies, Dr. Turley’s path intersected with Prescott Animal Hospital, where he shadowed their seasoned professionals in 2019. The exemplary culture, meticulous treatment protocols, and genuine care exhibited by the staff deeply resonated with him, instilling a desire to contribute to their team. His commitment to his future vocation was further solidified during an externship at PAH, undertaken during his final year of training.
Outside the realm of veterinary medicine, Dr. Turley cherishes moments spent with his family as well as playing games. Among his companions are two feline friends, Socks and Gorilla-Face, whom he rescued as kittens.
When reflecting on his journey and the driving force behind his career choice, Dr. Turley’s answer is unequivocal: his passion for animals. From the tender age of youth, he found purpose in rescuing animals and witnessing their transformation into healthier, happier beings. As a veterinarian, he sees an opportunity to continue this compassionate work, ultimately making a meaningful difference in the lives of animals and their human companions alike.
