
Urgent Pet Care
At Prescott Animal Hospital, we offer urgent care services to provide prompt medical attention to a variety of species. From reptiles and amphibians to primates, select large mammals, small mammals, and aquatic creatures – we’re here to help with urgent medical needs.

We do not see venomous species.
Please Note
While we are not a 24-hour emergency facility, we are equipped to handle most emergency cases during business hours. If your pet requires overnight staffed care, we will stabilize them for transfer to a nearby full-service emergency hospital.

Examples of Urgent Care Needs
Our experienced team can treat a variety of urgent health issues, including:
- Wounds and Lacerations: Cuts, burns, or injuries from foreign objects.
- Foreign Body Obstructions: Swallowing toys, bones, or other non-food items.
- Trauma: Injuries from falls, car accidents, or other accidents.
- Urinary Problems: Straining to urinate, blood in urine, or discomfort.
- Digestive Concerns: Vomiting, diarrhea, or anorexia (not eating) lasting over 24 hours.
- Respiratory Issues: Coughing, labored breathing, or nasal discharge.
- Eye Injuries: Infections, ruptured eyes, or other concerns requiring attention.
- Mass Bleeding or Swelling: Bleeding tumors, rectal bleeding, or aural hematomas.
- Behavioral Changes: Lethargy, disorientation, or sudden personality shifts.
- Neurological Symptoms: Stumbling, uncoordinated movement, or decreased mobility.
- Reproductive Emergencies: Pyometra (uterine infection) or urgent C-sections.
- Vaccine Reactions: Swelling, hives, or other adverse responses.
- Broken Toenails: Causing significant pain or bleeding.
- Oral Obstructions: Items stuck in the mouth or throat.
